Privacy Policy
Effective / Last Updated: August 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AEGIS collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes information when you use the AEGIS website or Discord integration.
1. Information AEGIS May Collect
Politics & War information
AEGIS may process information needed for alliance-management features, including Nation ID, nation name, leader name, alliance membership and position, score, cities, military values, wars, treaties, projects, activity information, bank or tax information when authorized, and other Politics & War data required for enabled AEGIS features.
Discord information
When you use the Discord integration, AEGIS may process Discord user identifiers and account names needed to verify or link your nation; server identifiers; configured channel identifiers; configured role identifiers; slash-command inputs; notification preferences; and delivery or configuration information needed to provide Discord features.
Alliance operational information
AEGIS may store alliance-created information such as roles and permissions, targets, War Plans, counter assignments, tasks, announcements, calendar events, proposals and votes, Academy records, diplomatic records, grant programs and requests, safekeeping settings, audit entries, and notification configuration.
Security and support information
AEGIS may process verification events, timestamps, limited connection information, and session information needed to keep you signed in, protect accounts, prevent abuse, and respond to bug reports or support requests.
2. Where Information Comes From
Information may come directly from you, from authorized alliance users using AEGIS, from Discord when you interact with the AEGIS application, and from Politics & War through information and APIs made available for the features your alliance uses.
3. How AEGIS Uses Information
AEGIS uses information only as reasonably necessary to provide and protect its stated functionality, including to:
- verify nations and Discord links;
- apply alliance roles and access permissions;
- display alliance dashboards, intelligence, military, diplomatic, training, and economic information;
- operate War Alerts, direct messages, role mentions, grant notifications, and other requested notifications;
- coordinate War Plans, counters, targets, tasks, grants, and other alliance workflows;
- maintain preferences and configuration;
- prevent abuse, investigate errors, enforce access controls, and protect AEGIS; and
- provide support and preserve appropriate auditability of important alliance actions.
4. Discord War Alerts and Direct Messages
When an alliance enables War Alerts, AEGIS may use current alliance war information to detect relevant war events. If a defending nation is linked, AEGIS may send that user a direct message when their War/Attack Alerts preference is enabled. AEGIS may also send the event to the configured alliance channel and mention the configured Discord role for a defensive war.
5. How Information Is Shared
AEGIS does not sell personal information or Discord API data to advertisers.
Information may be visible to other AEGIS users when that visibility is necessary for alliance functionality and the viewer has the required permission. For example, authorized military staff may see operational information, and authorized economic staff may see grant-management information.
AEGIS also exchanges information with Discord and Politics & War as necessary to perform requested integrations and features. Those third-party services handle information under their own privacy policies and terms.
6. Cookies and Sessions
AEGIS uses session technology necessary to authenticate users, maintain login state, apply permissions, and protect the Service. These technologies are used for AEGIS functionality and security rather than advertising.
7. Retention
AEGIS retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide alliance functionality, preserve required operational or audit history, protect the Service, or satisfy a valid operational or legal need.
Some records naturally expire or can be removed, such as configurable notification settings. Operational and audit records may be retained after a user unlinks if needed to preserve alliance history, prevent abuse, or maintain accountability.
8. Unlinking and Deletion Requests
You may use the AEGIS Discord /unlink command to remove your active Discord-to-nation link.
To request deletion or correction of additional information associated with you, submit a request through the AEGIS Report a Bug / Support feature or contact AEGIS support through the official AEGIS Discord community. Please provide enough information to identify the account or Nation ID involved. We may need to verify ownership before completing a request.
Deletion requests may not require removal of information that must reasonably be retained for security, dispute resolution, audit integrity, legal obligations, or records that no longer identify you.
9. Security
AEGIS uses access controls and other technical and organizational safeguards intended to limit unauthorized access. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect their Discord and Politics & War accounts and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
10. Children and Minimum Age
AEGIS is not intended for anyone who is not old enough to use the third-party services through which AEGIS operates or who is otherwise prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.
11. Third-Party Services
Discord and Politics & War may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. AEGIS does not control those third-party services.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when AEGIS features, integrations, or data practices change. The “Last Updated” date will be revised when material changes are published.
13. Privacy Questions
For privacy questions, correction requests, or deletion requests, use the AEGIS Report a Bug / Support feature or contact AEGIS support through the official AEGIS Discord community.
